In a town where Sexy is everything, when it comes to hotels, possibly only Ian Schrager could still cause a stir. Miami is all of a cocktail swizzle at the thought that the Miami Beach Edition will open in the third quarter of this year. The newest Edition is located on the site of the old Seville Beach Hotel on Collins Avenue. Billionaires please note that its top two floors will have 26 luxurious residences designed by John Pawson. They don't come cheap (from around US$3,00 a square foot ) but you may well have Schrager himself as a neighbour; rumour has it he plans to buy one - or is that just good marketing hype? Worked on us.

The Edition hotels are the result of collaboration between Schrager and Marriott. The first hotel was the Istanbul Edition followed by the London Edition late last year. 

Also on the luxe radar in Miami:  the revamp of The Saxony by Argentinean developer Alan Faena - Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin  are rumoured to be designing uniforms. Metropolitan by COMO, a restoration of the historic art deco Traymore Hotel.
